Security Risk Advisor (SIRA)

Description

Our Edinburgh based public sector clients are seeking a security expert to work as a Security Risk Advisor (SIRA) to assist in developing their resilience against cyber-attacks across their digital platforms.

The successful Security Risk Advisor with work within our clients established Edinburgh SIRA team and will be working alongside colleagues to review current policies and procedures in place until the end of January 2020. In doing so the Security Risk Advisor will provide relevant advice to stakeholders regarding the application and function of security controls. This will include legislative or regulatory requirements.

With the above in mind, our client is seeking a Security Risk Advisor who has evident experience of undertaking risk assessments as well as accreditation processes in addition to an awareness of Government and International Security standard encompassing its technical aspects. This should include the HMG Security Policy Framework, ISO 27001.

Further to this, our public sector client requires the appointed Security Risk Advisor to have high level of communication skills and be able to provide instances where they have implemented this to display understanding to for colleagues working across non-technical areas of business. Further requirements include:

• Technical knowledge of both traditional on-premise type IT solutions together with knowledge of more contemporary external cloud technologies including hybrid models.
• The ability to demonstrate experience of managing multiple projects and initiatives; working effectively across multiple stakeholder groups, geographies and service lines.
• Being a self-starter.
• Basic Disclosure Scotland Certificate
