ASA Recruitment is looking for enthusiastic, caring and experienced Support Workers to support adults with learning disabilities and complex care needs. This is a role where you can make a genuine difference, helping people to live independently, build confidence, get involved in their local community and enjoy the things that matter to them.

As part of the role, you may drive service users mobility vehicles, helping them get to appointments, access local services, enjoy activities and stay connected with their community.

What’s the Role About?

• This is about more than providing care. It’s about supporting people to live full, meaningful and independent lives.
• You’ll help individuals make their own choices, develop confidence and take part in everyday life whether that’s going shopping, grabbing a coffee, attending a community group, enjoying a favourite hobby or simply getting out and about.
• Providing person centred support to adults with learning disabilities and complex care needs.
• Supporting individuals to live as independently and confidently as possible.
• Helping with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication support and household tasks.
• Supporting people to develop everyday life skills, including cooking, budgeting, travel training and social interaction.
• Encouraging individuals to access and become involved in their local community.
• Following risk assessments and individualised care and support plans.
• Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with families and wider multi-agency teams.
• Advocating for individuals’ rights, choices, dignity and preferences.

Who We’re Looking For

• Experience working as a Support Worker within learning disabilities, complex care or a similar setting.
• An understanding of community care, reablement and/or justice services.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships and trust.
• Confidence supporting individuals in different environments, including community settings and lone working.
• The ability to work autonomously while knowing when to seek support.
• PVG membership or willingness to update.
• A valid UK automatic or manual driving licence and Confidence and willingness to drive service user vehicles.
