ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow are currently looking to recruit a Lead Business Analyst for an initial 6 month contract (with potential extensions) on a rate of c.£550/day inside of IR35 (based on experience). These roles are mainly remote with the occasional visit to either the office in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

The Role:

This role with be working on the delivery of our client’s Correspondence Improvement Programme (CIP).

The CIP aims to modernise how correspondence is managed across the organisation and partner organisations. A key outcome of this programme is to support more consistent processes, improved transparency and reporting, and a more sustainable service model for handling correspondence.

As a Lead Business Analyst, you will work across a complex central government corporate services environment, leading analysis activity, shaping problem definition, and providing expert advice to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in the application of a range of analysis techniques to analyse the current state, of people, processes, and technology with our stakeholders
  • Facilitate collaboration and lead effective communication with all stakeholders, both business and technical, to support design, build and delivery to meet the user needs
  • Drive improvements to the overall quality of the analysis service through close collaboration with Head of Business Architecture and Analysis and other team members
  • Provide leadership to a team of Business Analysts, giving direction and advice where necessary
  • Provide effective consultancy and advice to customers and stakeholders
  • Develop an understanding of the organisation’s strategic goals, ensuring this is recognised through solutions and performance improvement
  • Contribute to building capability within the team, implementing best practice and enhancing skills capability through coaching and mentoring
  • Ensure all analytical design work is in line with the Digital and Data standards in the including the Scottish Service Standards and the Scottish Approach to Service Design

Essential Experience:

  • Candidates will demonstrate significant experience leading business analysis activity across complex project and programme environments, within large Public Sector organisations delivering corporate-wide change
  • Significant track record of leading business analysis in complex project or programme environments
  • Experience adapting business analysis approaches across delivery methodologies, including Agile and Prince2
  • Expert use of business analysis techniques and practices, including business cases, as-is and to-be analysis, and technical and non-technical requirements
  • Experience designing and facilitating effective workshops with senior stakeholders, with excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Experience leading, coaching and supporting the development of less experienced business analysts
