Description

Are you looking for a care role where your work genuinely matters to older adults, while still getting your evenings and weekends back?

We are working with a respected group of care homes across Edinburgh committed to delivering safe, compassionate and dignified care for older people, with a strong focus on person centred support that promotes independence, wellbeing and quality of life.

We are currently recruiting Care Assistants seeking stable, consistent and rewarding work beyond typical agency roles. These are regular day shifts, no nights offering structure, balance and routine.

If you take pride in delivering compassionate care and want to be part of a team that values dignity, respect and quality this could be the right next step.

Your Role

As a Care Assistant, you will support older adults to live safely, comfortably and with dignity in a residential care setting. This role is ideal for those looking to build experience in elderly and complex care, supporting residents living with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke recovery, frailty and other age related conditions.

You will

  • Provide compassionate personal care including washing, dressing, mobility support, meals, and daily routines
  • Promote independence, choice, and dignity for every resident
  • Support residents with a range of complex care needs linked to ageing and long-term conditions
  • Carry out safe moving and handling using appropriate equipment
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively to deliver consistent, high quality care
  • Maintain accurate records in line with care standards and safeguarding requirements
  • Communicate clearly with the wider care team regarding changes in resident’s needs

The Successful Candidates

  • We are looking for caring, reliable individuals who understand the importance of supporting older adults:
  • Experience in a UK care home or adult social care setting
  • A kind, patient, and respectful approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to dignity, safeguarding, and person-centred care
  • PVG membership (or willingness to obtain)

Why Join ASA Recruitment

  • Multiple immediate opportunities across Edinburgh care homes
  • Day shifts only, supporting work-life balance
  • Consistent work with flexible booking system
  • Hands on experience in elderly care settings
  • Holiday pay eligible on all shifts worked
  • Supportive team environment
  • Refer a friend scheme, earn a £250 Love2Shop voucher (eligibility applies)

If you’re ready to make a real difference in the lives of older adults, we’d love to hear from you.
