Support Workers – Edinburgh (Multiple Locations)
Locations: Oxgangs, St John’s Hill, Leith, Tollcross, and Bruntsfield
Shifts: Day shift, Backshift, and Nightshift (24/7 service coverage)
Pay Rates:

£12.60 per hour (increasing after 12 weeks)

Nightshift: £16.80 per hour (enhanced rate applies after 12 weeks)

We are currently recruiting Support Workers to join our dedicated teams across supported accommodation services in Edinburgh. These services offer round-the-clock support to individuals experiencing homelessness and complex needs, many of whom have faced trauma, exclusion, and stigma.

The Role
As a Support Worker, you will:

Deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support

Build trusting, compassionate, and non-judgemental relationships

Be the first point of contact for individuals seeking help

Liaise with external agencies and advocate for service users

Support with attending appointments, emotional wellbeing, and health-related emergencies

What We’re Looking For
A positive, flexible attitude with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal

Confidence to work independently, including lone working

An ability to engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds is essential

SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work toward this)

PVG membership for both Adults and Children (or willingness to obtain)

Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of starting

Willingness to complete all required training
