Are you an expert in Information Governance looking to make a real impact on the future of health and social care?

We’re looking for a highly experienced Senior Information Governance (IG) Specialist to join a national programme delivering secure, lawful, and effective digital solutions across the health and social care system.

This is a strategic role where you’ll support complex digital transformation programmes by ensuring robust governance, data protection compliance, and privacy by design principles are applied throughout.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of the Information Governance & Assurance team, your responsibilities will include:

Providing expert advice on data protection and information governance for national digital health and care initiatives
Leading the development of key compliance documentation – including DPIAs, Information Sharing Agreements, and Data Processing Agreements
Working collaboratively with delivery teams to embed IG principles in system design and implementation
Offering assurance that appropriate due diligence is applied to the use of personal identifiable data
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to promote best practice and support decision-making
Supporting the Data Protection Officer with complex IG and compliance queries

What You’ll Bring
Extensive experience in data protection and information governance (GDPR, DPA 2018)
Proven track record leading DPIAs and governance processes in complex digital or cloud environments
Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to both specialist and non-specialist audiences
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
Excellent organisational and analytical skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset

Desirable Experience
Familiarity with public healthcare, local authority, or integrated health and social care systems
Knowledge of the Scottish policy and data landscape
Experience in multidisciplinary or agile delivery teams
Understanding of technical environments or systems architecture
Leadership or coaching experience within IG or compliance functions
