Are you an experienced communications manager with excellent oral and written communications and engagement skills looking to take on an exciting new job opportunity?
ASA are currently working with a large-scale client in the public sector who is looking to recruit a Senior Communications Manager to take forward proactive communications and engagement work while managing media inquiries, tracking news, reporting analytics, and being available outside regular hours when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy.
· Collaborate with the communications manager to provide essential support to the council.
· Proactively engage with media and stakeholders to promote awareness among the public, practitioners, policymakers, and individuals with experience in the criminal justice system.
· Manage media inquiries, draft news releases, and populate the Council’s blog page.
· Lead social media campaigns and create informative posts across various platforms, including X, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
· Oversee website content development, procurement exercises, and educational material creation.
· Plan and execute online and in-person events or conferences, providing full support to Council members.
· Contribute to relevant research projects, such as national surveys on public perceptions of sentencing.
Essential criteria:
· Excellent oral and written communications and engagement skills including experience of drafting or presenting a wide range of material and resources for the media, social media, stakeholders, and the public
· Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
· The capability to provide constructive feedback effectively, including to senior leaders.
· Ability to work both autonomously and with colleagues to ensure a high volume and range of work is completed timeously
· Experience and knowledge of website development or content management systems, media handling, events handling, and a solid working experience of social media management
· Proactive approach in setting objectives and managing priorities with creativity and innovation.
· Political awareness and understanding of the criminal justice system.
