Are you ready to lead impactful research and help shape Scotland’s response to future challenges? ASA is partnering with a prominent public sector organisation to recruit a Research Officer. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives by learning from the past to improve the future.

About the Role

As the Research Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the research and analysis aspects of the programme, working as part of a multidisciplinary team with public engagement, participation, and research specialists. You’ll have the opportunity to shape meaningful outputs that reflect the voices of those affected by the pandemic.

Key Responsibilities
· Research Planning & Reporting: Assist the research and analysis team in planning and delivering a series of report publications.
· Data Analysis & Design: Support day-to-day research activities, including data analysis, design, and adherence to data protection protocols .
· Qualitative Analysis: Utilise tools like NVivo to analyse qualitative data. Training will be provided if required.
· Quantitative Analysis: Use tools like R to conduct quantitative data analysis and contribute to project outputs.
· Engagement Feedback Loop: Ensure meaningful participant feedback is incorporated into project outcomes
· Collaboration & Logistics: Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth operations of Let’s Be Heard activities

Essential Criteria
· Research Expertise: Knowledge and application of social research methods with an intersectional lens.
· Analytical Skills: Ability to critically evaluate large datasets and other research evidence to meet user needs.
· Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills to present complex issues clearly and effectively.
· Organisational Skills: Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and manage resources to achieve results.

Qualifications
· A PhD or a Master’s degree with practical experience in a relevant social science, public health, or related field with a strong emphasis on quantitative and qualitative research methods.
