Job Title: Payroll Assistant
Location: Dundee (Hybrid Working)
Type: Full-Time (35 hours per week, typically 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday)
Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Payroll Assistant to join our client’s team, reporting directly to the Senior HR Adviser. The successful candidate will support payroll provision and HR transactional processes within our clients shared service team, ensuring seamless services.
Responsibilities:
· Process and manage payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
· Maintain and update employee payroll records.
· Handle payroll queries from employees and resolve any issues promptly.
· Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data management.
· Assist with the preparation of year-end financial documents and tax filings.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding payroll.
· Coordinate and manage HR transaction processing to ensure workforce changes are recorded and actioned.
· Provide, analyse, and present planned and ad hoc workforce information to support effective decision-making and corporate reporting.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a Payroll Assistant or in a similar role.
· Experience working with Resourcelink payroll and HR management information (MI) system.
· Working knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
· Strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
· Understanding of key legislation, rules, and regulations surrounding HR and payroll.
· Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel.
· Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience of providing HR analytic and performance reporting.
· Understanding the importance of working to deadlines.
