Description

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for designing innovative IT infrastructure solutions? We are looking for a talented Lead Technical Architect to join our public sector client and drive enterprise-wide technology transformations that support long-term success.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing secure, scalable, and forward-thinking technology platforms that align with both business goals and the specific needs of the public sector. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, technical teams, and external vendors, you will help shape the future of IT architecture, ensuring it meets the evolving demands of our public sector client.

Key Responsibilities:

Design accessible, innovative target state architectures and solutions to support business growth and technological advancement.

Collaborate with IT leads to drive technology improvements and ensure secure by design solutions.

Review and assure 3rd party digital, data and technology designs for major programmes.

Maintain architectural assets including the design templates, catalogues and registers relating to technology solutions

Guide the development of scalable, efficient, and sustainable IT platforms.

Work with 3rd party vendors, partners, and internal teams to identify the best-value solutions and optimise technology investments.

Essential Skills:

Expertise in IT Infrastructure with extensive hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, VMware vSphere, Redhat Linux and IP networking.

Proficient in system design, network design, and integration of complex solutions.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus on architecture decisions.

Strong skills in managing relationships with external vendors and partners.

Desired Experience

Public Sector Experience: Familiarity with public sector policies and regulations (especially in Scotland) is highly preferred.

Familiarity with digital frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL or similar standards.

The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work from their preferred location, with occasional onsite presence in Edinburgh office required as needed.

This is an INSIDE IR35 Role.
