Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK
• Qualifications: 7061 & 7062 or equivalent qualifications (Chef degree desirable)
• PVG Required
• Demonstrable knowledge of HACCP / COSHH / Health and Safety legislation
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to adapt to different working environments and Cuisines
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends

Your Responsibilities:

• To lead the chefs on a daily basis, overseeing and role modelling high standards of cooking and service.

• To plan and develop daily and seasonal menus considering patients and customers nutritional needs and special dietary requirements in partnership with Catering Team Lead.

• To ensure that all staff and volunteers have full knowledge of allergens management in relation to their roles
• To provide a high standard of customer service to all people using the catering services.
• To ensure effective procurement, menu planning and waste management systems in place to ensure efficient use of hospice resources.
• To actively seek feedback from patients and customers, seeking continual improvement and a person centred approach to catering in line with clients values .
• To support innovation and developments within the catering department.
• To supervise and direct kitchen staff daily ensuring high standards of service are maintained at all times.
• To supervise and support catering team volunteers ensuring appropriate induction, training and supervision in place, working in partnership with volunteer services team as necessary.
