Remote Opportunity: GIS Analyst/Developer | £350-£400 Day Rate (Inside IR35)

We are seeking a skilled and proactive GIS Analyst/Developer to join a dynamic GIS Development Team on a 6-month contract. This fully remote role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge geospatial technologies while delivering high-impact solutions.

Role Overview:
You will work closely with the development unit to translate technical workflows into automated scripts and geoprocessing models using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Image Server, and ArcGIS Enterprise. This delivery-focused position demands strong technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Python scripts and ArcGIS toolboxes to automate data processing workflows

  • Create and manage mosaic datasets and Raster Function Templates (RFTs)

  • Support conversion of raster datasets to Cloud Optimised GeoTIFFs and manage data in Azure storage

  • Assist with publishing and maintaining image services and web layers

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure outputs meet spatial data standards and operational requirements

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise

  • Proficient in Python (arcpy) for geoprocessing automation

  • Familiarity with mosaic datasets, Raster Function Templates, and image service publishing

  • Understanding of British National Grid (BNG) and spatial reference systems

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in GIS, Environmental Science, or related fields

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Cloud Optimised GeoTIFFs and Azure Storage management

  • Knowledge of Optimise Rasters tools and Mosaic Dataset Configuration Scripts (MDCS)

  • Raster analytics and performance tuning

  • Experience with ArcGIS API for Python and scripting for ArcGIS Enterprise

  • Exposure to flood modelling or environmental datasets
