Domestic Assistant – Care Home Setting

Hours: 36 hours per week (Ongoing temporary contract)

Location: Edinburgh

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: From £12.60

Contract Length: Minimum 3 months

ASA Recruitment is currently working with a long standing client to recruit a dedicated Domestic Assistant for a care home in the Edinburgh area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking steady, ongoing temporary work with a supportive employer.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all areas of the care home
• Clean and sanitise residents’ rooms and communal spaces
• Greet residents and visitors with a warm and professional attitude
• Support a safe, comfortable, and homely environment
• Ensure cleaning supplies are stocked and equipment is well maintained
• Carry out laundry duties, ensuring fresh and neatly folded linen and towels
• Keep lounges, dining rooms, and social spaces tidy and inviting
• Take out waste and recycling promptly
• Report any maintenance issues or hazards
• Support the wider team with light domestic tasks when required

What We’re Looking For

• Previous cleaning or domestic experience preferred, but not essential
• A positive, hardworking, and trustworthy approach
• Ability to work independently and follow clear instructions
• Flexible to cover 36 hours per week, including possible weekends
• PVG or Willing to Join through ASA
