Are you a talented Content Designer with a passion for creating user-centred, accessible content?
We have an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to a public sector project, where your work will directly impact how services are delivered to users-making complex processes easy to understand and improving their overall experience.
You will play a key role in the end-to-end journey of a service, ensuring users can successfully achieve their goals while the government delivers on its policy intent. You’ll have the opportunity to create, update, and review content that spans both digital and offline channels, working autonomously while collaborating closely with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and iterate content for end-to-end services, simplifying complex language and processes to ensure user understanding.
Work independently to develop content for digital and offline services, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and alignment with content standards.
Use evidence, data, and user feedback to define, refine, and validate content decisions.
Manage relationships with stakeholders, balancing competing priorities and influencing decisions with clear, evidence-based recommendations.
Collaborate with user researchers to understand user needs and translate those insights into effective content design approaches.
Contribute to and follow style guides and design patterns, ensuring consistency across content.
Develop content in line with business requirements, ensuring services are clear, concise, and accessible to all users.
Participate in programme and project assurance activities and contribute to the wider DDaT community through events, reviews, and process improvements.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience writing for the web and creating accessible, user-centred content.
Experience using data and user feedback to define and refine content.
Strong ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and communicate effectively.
Familiarity with content publishing systems and content management platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to cross-functional teams.
Understanding and implementation of content styles and standards.
