AV Engineer

Description

Join a forward-thinking Learning Technology team supporting over 400 teaching rooms and 1,500+ study space PCs. This hands-on AV Systems Engineer role focuses on maintaining and enhancing critical audio-visual and IT infrastructure across a large educational estate.

What You’ll Do:
Deliver and manage AV repair services, responding to technical issues swiftly and effectively.
Leverage automation and AI tools to improve service efficiency.
Maintain and update a detailed asset management system for AV/IT equipment.
Track and manage data related to learning, study, and meeting spaces.
Create clear technical documentation, user guides, and workflows for team-wide use.

What You’ll Need:
Strong background in AV systems, including programming and configuration of hardware.
Working knowledge of arising technologies, from IP networking to remote diagnostics.
Proven ability to support users in-person, via phone, and email.
Great multitasking and time management abilities – thrives in dynamic settings.
Knowledge of health & safety standards in tech-heavy environments.
Degree or equivalent experience in AV/IT or a related field.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):
Certifications in IT/AV technologies.
Familiarity with digital signage CMS, coding, or database tools.
Experience in academic or higher education environments.
Exposure to Linux/Windows virtual server systems.

A creative eye – graphic design or media production interest is a plus.
Passion for innovation and a mindset of continuous learning.

This is an on-site role based in Edinburgh – ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on problem-solving in a collaborative, tech-driven environment.
