Cloud Solutions Architect (Platforms)

Description

Our client is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect (Platforms) for an ambitious digital transformation journey to the cloud. You will provide hands-on technical leadership to their platforms development team, while ensuring alignment with broader strategic architectural direction. Based in Edinburgh, this contract is for 12 months.

Main duties:
· Leading the design and implementation of our migration to Amazon Web Services
· Advising development teams on best practices for utilising AWS native features (such Lambda, API Gateway and Step Functions)
· Advising infrastructure focused teams on best practices for integration of the on-premises infrastructure with AWS
· Lead the deployment of Openshift onto AWS in order to provide a PaaS solution to compliment the serverless deployments
· Producing and reviewing architectural design documents for proof of concepts and production architectures

Essential criteria:
· Expert knowledge of AWS serverless approaches, the Well-Architected Framework and container orchestration
· Significant experience of working with AWS Organisations and multi-account deployments
· Significant experiences in the management of serverless deployments
· Familiarity with handling governance on public cloud (e.g. implementing NCSC Cyber Essentials Plus, CIS20, etc.)
· Significant experience in a technical lead role
· Experience of working within the public sector procurement process through G-Cloud.
· Experience of working with both relational and non-relational databases
