ASA are currently working with a local public body to recruit for a temporary Senior Allocations Officer to manage and support the allocations team, who are responsible for allocating all types of housing including temporary accommodation, mutual exchanges, garages and parking. This full time position is based in Aberdeen City.
In this role you would:
· Supervise, train, and support a team of Allocations Officers to carry out the functions required to allocate properties in line with the allocations policy
· Respond to appeals relating to offers of accommodation made through the allocations policy
· Respond to escalated enquiries relating to housing needs assessments
· Participate in the ongoing development of the service and on occasion take a lead role in project teams
· Participate, and in some instances take the lead, in appropriate panels with internal and external agencies regarding vulnerable applicants or applicants with complex housing needs
Skills/experience required to be successful:
· Knowledge of housing policy and legislation
· Ability to take a day to day lead role with respect to service delivery
· Ability to manage constant and often conflicting demands and deadlines
· Ability to analyse information and produce written reports
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, including communicating confidently by telephone and in person
