Procurement Development Officer

Description

ASA Recruitment are looking for a Procurement Development Officer for our Public Sector client. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in a short term assignment to put their experience to great use.

The key task will be to proactively engage businesses to support their growth opportunities through building procurement capabilities. Working with procurement and internal departments to identify opportunities to increase local spend.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead the engagement and delivery for businesses within the procurement portfolio, managing relationships with internal departments, co-ordinating services and ensuring the offering is joined up and consistent.
• Proactively engage private and third sector businesses to develop their procurement capabilities.
• Ensuring procurement used as a tool for local economic development and community wealth building through a wave planning approach that enables deeper market engagement.
• Develop and implement strategies to stimulate collaboration on procurement opportunities.
• Work with Anchor institutions (both public and private sector) to develop opportunities for Aberdeenshire businesses to secure additional opportunities.
• Working closely with procurement, undertake procurement spend analysis through a survey of suppliers and a market supply analysis.
• Engage with national supplier development programmes to ensure opportunities for Aberdeenshire businesses are maximised. Develop relationships with other strategic partners to deliver a clear Action Plan with the specific aim of increasing local spend with local companies.

Requirements:

• HND in business related subject or equivalent qualification.

• Achieved, or working towards full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or equivalent

• Significant experience in a procurement environment

• Relationship building at a senior/strategic level

• Developing stakeholder relationships
