Content Designer

ASA are currently recruiting a Content Designer for Scotland’s most well-known Public Sector body. This is an exciting opportunity to assist with the development of the organisations online channels to meet their online and public engagement strategies.

As the successful Content Designer you will be responsible for helping to embed a user-focused content strategy to their online channels. You will be required to apply you content design skills and experience to the web content to ensure it follows a consistent quality, style and tone. This is all to meet the aim of making the information more accessible to the public.

Responsibilities include:
· Work with the Web Content Manager and other members of the Digital Communications and Content Team to deliver an integrated communications and content function
· Champion the Content Strategy and provide training to staff across the organisation to ensure good web-writing practice is embedded and understood
· Use analytics and wider user insights to deliver useful, relevant and accessible content across our web channels

Essential skills:
· Experience of creating web content which meets accessibility standards, of testing web content with users to validate designs, and of using analytics to inform decision-making
· Demonstrable experience of making complex language and processes simple to understand
· Experience of developing and delivering training to colleagues on systems and processes around content design
· Ability to write and produce high-quality, plain English content
· Knowledge of, and practical experience of applying web standards including accessibility and metadata.
· Knowledge of Agile project management methodology and working in a multidisciplinary team
