Information Security Officer

Description

ASA Recruitment are souring an Information Security Officer for our Public Sector client. This role is to assist the Information Governance Manager with the protection of Information assets and confidentiality of information within the organisation.

Key Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Monitor compliance with information security policies and procedures among employees, contractors, and other third parties, referring problems to designated personnel
• Ensure that appropriate information access levels and security clearances are maintained where necessary by developing internal control systems and audit logs
• Provide authoritative advice and guidance in the application and operation of all types of information security controls
• Ensure that hazards are eliminated or their effects minimised by developing Information Security Management System (ISMS) Policy
• Provide support and assistance to the Information Governance Manager as required for the following areas:

1. Information Security
2. Data Protection
3. Other legislative requirements, such as the Computer Misuse Act 1990, Regulatory Investigatory Powers Act 2000 and Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations

• Ensure compliance with Security Policy Framework
• Monitor email systems and follow-up any breaches of service policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Ability to communicate technical subjects in plain English to staff and members of the public
• Ability to adapt to ever changing legislative demands
• Strong and effective time management
• Strong team-working skills and ability to support others
• Demonstrable ability to ensuring quality and accuracy of work
• Strong ICT skills, including MS Office products (including MS Excel)
