Network Engineer

Are you an experienced Network Engineer ready for your next contract in the Scottish public sector?

Our client are currently looking for a contract Network Engineer to assist with the design and delivery of new network infrastructure.

Outline of the role:

· Deliver an extension of network perimeter to new locations – inclusive of setting up hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls and remote access devices

· Deliver and integrate cloud services to our existing network (i.e. AWS, M365)

· Deliver and provide a network refresh inclusive of new environments including network design and best practice

· Support datacentre management and planning inclusive of power distribution and best practice design

· Design and future plan network, including wireless network refresh

· Design and productionise a new VPN solution

Essential Criteria:

· Substantial experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper and Checkpoint technologies

· Cisco routing & switching · Common design topologies for layer 2 & 3 services

· Checkpoint / NSX / Palo Alto firewall administration

· Experience with Nexus product line

· Strong knowledge of OSPF design together with performance tuning

· Strong knowledge of BGP design and operational management

· RSA 2 factor authentication
