Are you an experienced HR Generalist looking for an exciting new contract in Edinburgh?
ASA are recruiting on behalf of a diverse public sector body in Edinburgh for an HR Manager for a 6 month contract with likely extension.
You will provide an effective HR service and ensure managers and staff receive excellent support to deliver various strategic priorities.
Both part time and full time working will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a proactive HR advisory service to departments and to support leaders and managers in the development and implementation of people strategies that enable the delivery of strategic priorities.
- Issue contracts of employments and adhere to employment legislation
- Provide support in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Manage the recruitment and selection processes
- Engage with Trade Unions on employee matters
- Ensure HR processes conform to legislative and best practice requirements
- Coordinate with the HR Systems Officer in ensuring that all HR data held is accurate and up to date
- Manage 2 HR Officers on a rotational basis
Requirements:
- Educated to SCQF Level 9 i.e. degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area
- CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice or equivalent level of work experience
- Knowledge of current employment legislation issues
- The ability to deal with sensitive HR issues
- Experience of working within the public sector
- A background of working on casework
- Experience of dealing with trade unions
