UI Front End Developer

Are you an experienced Front End Developer looking for a new contract in Edinburgh?

Our public sector client has an exciting hands-on opportunity to play a key part in the creation of new interfaces and interactive prototypes for a range of digital products and services that support the organisation’s communications.

You will be required to show proactive project leadership to push the development of existing sites and upcoming JavaScript applications forward.

You should be comfortable with Vue, React, ES6+beyond flavours of JavaScript as well as best practice coding and principles behind framework-based development.

You will be communicating and discussing the design of UI solutions with back-end Java developers so an understanding of core programming principals and how the front-end and back-end will fit together into the big picture is crucial.

Requirements:

· Proven track record of the delivery of standards compliant JavaScript framework and vanilla JS solutions
· Experience working with CSS pre-processors such as LESS/SASS
· Experience working with Content Management Systems
· Demonstrable experience working with Vue, React or Angular
· An understanding of Webpack and it’s efficient setup
· A confidence with Node and it’s place in front-end delivery & optimisation
· A solid grasp of UX / UI best practices
· A proven track record of applying legacy & cross-browser optimisations
· A good knowledge of web accessibility and a track record of adopting standards compliant best practice to solutions
· An understanding of source code management and exposure to Git version control
· An understanding of best practice relating to code review, unit testing, acceptance testing, regression and performance testing

This is a full time, 3 month contract with potential to extend. You will work remotely initially and then from the office in Edinburgh.
