Temporary Research and Data Officer

Description

Our client in Dundee are looking to recruit a Temporary Research and Data Officer up until March 2020 with the option to extend on a weekly basis thereafter. The postholder will work with the Engagement Manager for Policy and Research to provide additional capacity for research and data analysis

The typical working week will be 37 hours ( Monday to Friday ) between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm though alternative hours will be considered. The PAYE day rate ( along with holiday accrual ) will be negotiable dependent on the skills and experience of the candidate

Main duties of the role:

* Analysis of survey findings and internal data to support the development of future Engagement work
* Analysis of internal administrative data to support internal thematic work, policy development and user research
* Contributing to the contract management of charity and public survey research
* Assisting in the development of a charity sector data visualisation tool and open data work
* Assisting in the development and review of management information reports

Essential skills required of the postholder:

* Knowledge of research techniques and experience in initiating, commissioning undertaking research
* Strong analytical ability
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to present information from a range of sources in an informative way
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office-based software, especially Excel with an ability to learn other internal software
* The ability to interrogate databases, for example, using Crystal Reports or SQL ( experience of data analysis or similar software will also be considered )

Desirable skills required:

* Knowledge of the charity sector
* Experience of a regulatory environment and / or a Scottish Public Body
* Project Management skills

The postholder will be required to have a current Basic Disclosure and be willing to undergo BPSS checking
