Head of Finance Business Partnering

ASA Recruitment’s well-known Public Sector client is looking for a Head of Finance Business Partnering for a 16 month contract. Our client is looking for a proactive, future focused, decision maker to support directorates while using financial analysis to facilitate change in either new ways of working or delivery mechanisms to ensure the required outcomes are achieved.

As the Head of Finance Business Partnering you will provide technical financial advice and management information to budget holders to enable them to effectively manage expenditure for their area of responsibility and be confident that they are complying with relevant accounting standards and legislation. In this role the successful candidate will produce the Board’s annual budget and 3 to 5 year financial plans whilst evaluating all assumptions used and assessing the associated risks.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Developing the team of Finance Managers and Finance Business Partners ensuring that they have clear objectives laid out
• Ensuring that there is appropriate integration between the operational plans designed to deliver against the Strategic Framework and the Financial 3 to 5 year plan
• Developing and delivering detailed financial plans so that the organisation can meet its financial budgets
• Ensuring the effective monitoring and management of the financial position through the production of monthly management reports inclusive of comprehensive variance analysis and accurate financial forecasting
• Contributing to the development and ongoing review of financial and risk management governance frameworks
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation and with other stakeholders

Requirements:

• Professional qualification (CCAB or recognised international equivalent) with experience in a senior management role
• Experience of leading a comprehensive management accounting and decision support service providing technical financial advice at a corporate level
• Ability to provide Finance Business Partner support within a large, dynamic service focused organisation
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to assess and synthesise information from multiple sources exercising significant judgement where information may not be complete
• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building effective teams
• Evidence of being highly motivational and proactive
