General Operative – Waste

Description

Are you reliable, hardworking, and looking for a hands-on role where you’ll make a real impact in the community? We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for a Community Works Operative (Waste) to join their dedicated team in Fort William.

You’ll work as part of a small crew or independently, helping to keep the community clean and safe. This is a varied, physical, and community-facing role that includes tasks such as:
Assisting on refuse and recycling collection rounds
Operating at the Household Waste Recycling Centre, Transfer Station, or Landfill
Collecting bulky items, fly-tipped waste, and animal carcasses
Delivering and uplifting waste/recycling containers
Supporting general street scene management
Completing basic admin and record keeping

What We’re Looking For:
A strong team player with good communication skills
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling
Flexible approach – able to work occasional overtime
Reliable and punctual
