Key Responsibilities:

• Annual Report and Accounts: Prepare and deliver crucial financial documents, ensuring compliance with regulations like the Scottish Public Finance Manual (SPFM) and accounting standards.
• Financial Management Advice: Provide expert guidance to stakeholders through insightful financial reporting and analysis, aiding in decision-making and issue resolution.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aligning financial processes with organisational needs.
• Process Enhancement: Identify and implement opportunities for streamlining finance processes, contributing to ongoing improvements.
• System Development: Act as a finance representative for system development initiatives, ensuring future system requirements meet financial needs.

Essential Skills:

• Qualified Accountant: CCAB or equivalent with robust technical skills and senior-level experience, preferably with knowledge of pensions accounting principles.
• Financial Management Proficiency: Skilled in generating, analysing, and presenting financial data to support decision-making and ensure responsible use of public funds.
• Excellent Communication: Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships.
• Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to develop informed recommendations and support well-informed decisions.
