Description

ASA is looking for a Finance Planning & Reporting Analyst to join our team on a 5-month contract offering hybrid working arrangements, providing flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to prepare annual statutory reports and accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports, providing insightful commentary and variance analysis.
  • Support the Finance Manager in presenting results to stakeholders, including managers, executives, and board committees.
  • Contribute to annual budget and re forecast exercises, profiling budgets and monitoring financial performance.
  • Document policies, procedures, and controls to maintain financial integrity.
  • Drive projects aimed at automating and streamlining finance operations and reporting processes.

Essential Competencies:

  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting and management accounting.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and processes, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Proven experience in analysing reports and identifying process improvements.
  • Part Qualified Accountant with hands-on experience in finance roles.

Ideally, but not essential:

  • Experience with invoice processing and bank payment systems.
  • Familiarity with Scottish Public Finance Manual (SPFM) and Financial Reporting Manual (FReM).
  • Previous experience in a small finance team.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting for Non-Departmental Public Bodies (NDPBs).
