Delivery Manager

Description

A major public sector digital transformation programme is looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to join its central Delivery, Integration, and Testing team. This programme is delivering complex, user-focused digital services – from online application portals to processing systems – designed to support a broad range of users and services.

As Delivery Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading multi-disciplinary teams, managing delivery at both a high level and in the detail. You’ll help drive forward progress at pace, manage competing priorities, and ensure that critical digital products are delivered on time and to specification.

What You’ll Do:
Lead planning and delivery for key digital workstreams, aligned with overall programme plans.
Manage Agile delivery teams with a focus on clarity, priority, and momentum.
Collaborate across multiple delivery areas to coordinate and deliver shared outputs.
Champion Agile and Scaled Agile (SAFe) principles within your teams and across the wider programme.
Own the delivery loop between team-level work (e.g., stand-ups, planning) and programme-level oversight (e.g., RAID logs, Epics).
Ensure all deliverables (JIRA tickets) are accurately estimated and tracked.
Lead on resource planning and balance team capacity against demand.
Support teams through every stage of the product lifecycle: Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and Live.
Shield delivery teams from distractions and ensure focus on value-driven outcomes.

Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong background in delivering digital projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Hands-on experience leading teams through Scaled Agile (SAFe) frameworks.
Excellent planning and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Understanding of product development life cycles and Agile ceremonies.
Financial awareness, including business case alignment and supplier/commercial engagement.
Proficient in JIRA or equivalent tools for managing deliverables and team progress.
