We are looking for a Catering Assistant to support the day-to-day running of a busy school kitchen and dining centre. You’ll play an important role in preparing and serving meals for pupils and staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and customer service at all times.

What you’ll be doing

• Assisting with basic food preparation (e.g. vegetables, snacks, and simple meals).

• Serving food and refreshments to pupils and staff.

• Helping with stock storage, rotation, and ordering supplies.

• Carrying out kitchen and dining duties – setting up, cleaning, and washing up.

• Acting as a point of contact for inspectors and supporting kitchen administration.

What we’re looking for (Essential Skills)

• Knowledge of good personal hygiene practices.

• Ability to handle and account for cash accurately.

• Experience of dealing with a range of customers.

• Willingness to undertake training.

• Ability to adapt to different tasks as required in a busy kitchen environment.
