Catering Assistant

ASA are currently looking for Catering Assistants to join our team for part time opportunities across Aberdeen. This role will see you working within local schools across the city in with various locations available, in particular AB14, AB15, AB24, AB25. Vacancies available include 10, 12.5, 15 or 22.5 hours work per week with a pay rate of £12.03 per hour as well as additional holiday accrual. This is a great opportunity for term time work and anyone looking for work to fit around school hours and family life.

As a Catering Assistant you will be working alongside the cook and other kitchen staff and assisting in all aspects of smooth lunch service. You will be involved with serving meals to the school pupils, clean down of the kitchen, operating dishwasher and manual dish washing as required. You may also be required to assist with food preparation and using till equipment if required. You should practise safe food hygiene and use equipment and cleaning agents correctly at all times.

Experience working in a kitchen environment is preferred as the school kitchen can be a busy, fast paced environment and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You must have a PVG for Children in place prior to commencing the role – if PVG already held an update is required. We are looking for someone who is a team player, hard worker and can interact well with colleagues and pupils.
