Catering Assistant

Are you passionate about preparing nutritious, high-quality meals and making a positive impact every day? We’re looking for a dedicated and reliable Catering Professional to join our clients team.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of hot and cold meals for a diverse customer base, including breakfast, lunch, and evening meals when required. This is a shift-based role, with working hours between 6:00am and 7:00pm, and occasional evening or weekend work as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals to meet a variety of dietary needs

• Monitor service delivery at meal times to ensure standards and procedures are consistently maintained

• Ensure full compliance with current legislative requirements and Food Safety Scotland guidelines

• Complete all routine administration and communications, including weekly and food safety checks

• Monitor food waste and manage stock levels, advising when replenishment is required

• Assist with menu planning and stock ordering to meet the needs of all college users

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience in a busy catering or commercial kitchen environment

• Demonstrates strong organisational and supervisory skills

• Has sound knowledge of food hygiene and safety legislation

• Works well within a team and can lead by example

• Is flexible and adaptable to shift-based working

• Takes pride in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals
