Description

Our Edinburgh based client has an opening for a Business & Finance Operations Team Leader. This is an exciting new post within the organisation. The post holder will manage all operational and research financial transactional activity so a head for numbers and attention to details is key for this role. The Finance function at the organisation are in the process of rolling out a brand new HR & Finance system, this role will play a key part in this transition process and ensuring a smooth implementation.

Main responsibilities:
· To manage the delivery of both operational and research finance services. This includes, amongst other things, authorising the reimbursement of expenses to individuals and payments to external organisations, investigating any complex issues and discrepancies referred by the Finance Administrator
· Play a key role in embedding the new Finance & HR System
· Lead, develop, mentor and support the Operational Finance Team, ensuring that an efficient and responsive service is provided
· Responsible for developing and leading on special projects within the organisation in collaboration with the Director of Professional Services and other as appropriate
· Any other duties as requested by Director of Professional Services, Head of Research or Research Support Manager

Essential education/qualifications/experience:
· HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus typically 3 years’ relevant work experience
· Ability to give professional advice to management and other staff members
· Ability to take large volumes of data and analyse for trends, identify problems and create reports for a range of audiences
· Ability to organise own work with minimal supervision, and to actively manage and supervise team’s activities
· Experience of defining and measuring success metrics and monitoring change progress
