ASA Recruitment’s client, a Public Sector organisation in Haddington, are currently looking to recruit 2x Accountants on a hybrid basis, on initial 6 month contracts (with potential extensions) on a rate of c.£250-£300/day inside of IR35 (based on experience).

The Roles:

The roles will involve the workers being the key finance contact for specified service areas within the organisation. This roles will involve day-to-day financial forecasting, budgeting & year-end management accounts closedown, ensuring that effective financial governance is in place, in line with the organisation and wider guidance.

Essential Skills:

• Chartered Accountant/Part-Qualified Accountant
• Local Government Experience
• Knowledge of budget monitoring/development processes & procedures
• Ability to work alongside others and act as a ‘critical friend’ with Service Managers

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working on finances of Education and/or Infrastructure (Roads, Waste, Transport etc.)
• Comfortable with remote/home-working.
• Experience of day-to-day supervision of Finance Officer(s)
• Knowledge and understanding of IFRS16 and how to apply and advise on this.
