Witness Support Officer

Description

Do you have experience of working with those who have suffered trauma or abuse and an understanding of issues facing vulnerable witnesses? We are seeking a Witness Support Officer for a 19 month contract based in Edinburgh.

Working in a high-profile and public facing environment, you will form part of a team that provides a vital link between those engaging with the Inquiry and the Inquiry team. As a Witness Support Officer, you will guide and support witnesses through the various stages of the Inquiry. Due to the nature of the Inquiry, you must be resilient with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations.

Travel throughout Scotland, the UK and on occasion, abroad is to be expected.

To be considered for this role you must have experience of working with survivors of abuse or trauma and be capable of dealing with complex and sensitive issues. A Basic Disclosure is required for this post.
