Our Edinburgh based public sector client are seeking a diligent It Support Analyst to deliver IT support across the organisation to ensure that the IT infrastructure and applications facilitate both the operational and strategic requirements. This will be afforded by the provision of effective Help-desk support and infrastructure project support.

The successful IT Support Analyst will use a variety of communication methods comprised of email, fax, telephone and face-to-face communication within both sectors of the role offering advice and solutions to colleagues and some external websites where needed. In addition, they should be able to communicate solutions within the unit and with the customer in a way that supports the customer and gives them a better comprehension of the application or hardware they are utilising. Within this position our clients are looking predominantly for an IT Analyst to assist with the Help-desk support and on occasions offer infrastructure project support, strong communication skills are required for both.

In order to be considered for the role of IT Support Analyst for our Edinburgh based client, you must have the following:

A qualification in IT or equivalent professional experience.

• Previous experience of providing infrastructure and Help-desk support as part of an IT Department.
• Knowledge of current Windows operating systems for servers and PC.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Up-to-date and relevant knowledge of developments in both hardware and software.
• The post holder will also be self-motivated, analytical, a team player, comfortable with the trouble shooting aspects of the role and willing to learn and to share knowledge.
• Willingness to work towards an appropriate Microsoft Certification.
