ASA is currently seeking an experienced Interim Category Lead to join a public sector client providing coverage for a maternity leave period. This exciting hybrid role offers an immediate start date.

Assignment Description:

As the Interim Category Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing strategic sourcing initiatives for a designated spend category, aiming to achieve savings and enhance service levels in alignment with company goals and regulations. Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with stakeholders to assess service needs and develop sourcing solutions, supported by a team of procurement specialists.
• Managing the 2023/24 work plan and developing the 2024/25 program, with a focus on projects such as the New Mobilising System (NMS).
• Working closely with the Project Manager, project team, and external experts to ensure project success.

Essential Skills:

• MCIPS and degree qualified.
• Minimum 5 years’ senior procurement experience with expertise in public procurement legislation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with influential abilities.
• Proven capacity to cultivate effective relationships internally and externally.
• Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders.
• Proficient in analysis, problem-solving, and team leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise, and organise workload effectively in a dynamic environment.

Place of Work/Working Hours:

• Flexible – The majority of the Procurement Team continue to be home-based with travel to the office location as required.
• Mon-Thurs: 8:45 – 16:45
• Fri: 8:45 – 15:30
