Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for a new challenge with Scotland’s largest Public Sector client?

ASA Recruitment is working to source an experienced and highly capable Project Manager. This role is suitable for candidates based anywhere in Scotland who are willing to be in the Edinburgh office one day per week on a 6-month contract with possible extension to 12 months.

If you started in this role today you would be…

· Manage resources effectively and efficiently.
· Work with Finance colleagues to prepare a budget for 2024/25 based on scope of work and resource requirements.
· Track project costs to manage the agreed budget.
· Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan for the project.
· Provide project updates consistently to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
· Utilise industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
· Monitor progress, making adjustments as needed within project tolerance; and escalating were outside tolerance.
· Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
· Work with permanent staff effectively and share best practices with new PMs.

Ability to adapt to changes in the course while maintaining motivation and productivity.
· Ability to plan, organise and keep up with project deadlines with minimal supervision.
· Ability to prepare and present outputs and concepts to varied audiences.
· Ability and aptitude to transfer knowledge and share experience with the wider project team.
Essential Skills and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in IT, STEM or Business-related subject OR equivalent professional experience/ accreditation
· At least 3 years of project management and related experience in digital delivery
· Experience and expertise in project methodology with Project Management certification preferred.
· Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
· Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
· Knowledge and awareness of GDS and Digital Scotland Service Standards
