Research Manager

Description

ASA are recruiting for a Research Manager for an exciting project based in Edinburgh city centre. This post is high profile and unique and the contract is expected to last up to 23 months on a hybrid basis.

The role

• Lead secondary research activities including reviews of existing published articles, databases, and records to support the work across investigative portfolios.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Provide support to the Solicitor and Counsel team in the preparation of interim reports.
• Line management responsibility for Research Support Officers
• Manage existing research contracts, checking in with academics and/or researchers as required and arrange the publication of final reports.
• Undertake and lead on primary research activities, employing qualitative and quantitative approaches to support ongoing analysis.
• Support members of the wider team with research and analysis activities.

Essential Requirements;

• Candidates should hold a master’s degree in a relevant social science, or political science where a thesis has been undertaken.
• It would be preferable for candidates to have experience of working with material of a scientific or technical nature.
• An understanding of the research landscape in Scotland and UK would also be beneficial to the role’s success
• Knowledge and experience of applying a range of social research methods to address research questions.
• The ability to communicate effectively on complex issues.
• The ability to critically evaluate data and other research evidence with accuracy and perception to meet the needs of research users.
• Experience of planning, reviewing and prioritising work and resources to deliver results.
