Are you experienced in supporting Witnesses?

ASA Recruitment are looking to recruit an experienced Witness Manager to join a large-scale public inquiry in Scotland’s public sector. This role is suitable for candidates based in the Edinburgh area to work on a hybrid basis.

If you started in this role today you would…

• Manage a team of Witness Support Officers, ensuring a dedicated support officer is allocated to each witness, monitoring performance and ensuring team members are trained to provide appropriate support for witnesses with a range of support needs
• Contribute to the planning, development of procedure and operational delivery of Inquiry hearings
• Develop, agree and implement procedures required to manage Rule 9 questions at hearings
• Liaise with the Inquiry legal team to specify the approach to determining whether witnesses should be granted vulnerable witness status
• Manage arrangements for appearance of all witnesses at hearings, ensuring the provision of any agreed vulnerable witness measures and facilitating the provision of expert support where required

So, what are we looking for?

• Strong relevant experience in handling witnesses and providing a high level of support
• Line management experience with an ability to build cohesive teams, supporting training and development and monitoring performance
• Strong interpersonal skills with a sensitive and empathic approach and an ability to build positive and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
