Situated in our client’s Edinburgh based care and nursing homes, you will be required to apply your caring personality and knowledge of nursing to deliver high quality care to the homes’ elderly residents.

Earning up to £20 per hour, characteristic responsibilities of a Nurse based within one of our clients care homes in Edinburgh include:

  • Undertaking physical examinations and understanding health histories before making important care decisions.
  • Supporting the promotion of health and educating individuals and their family members on this (where necessary).
  • Administering medications and/or treatments.
  • Managing care plans, in partnership with a team of health care professionals such as care assistants, physiotherapists and senior care staff.

Working in collaboration with additional health and social care professionals will assist you, as a nurse, to gain a well-rounded understanding of a patient’s wellbeing using your shared expertise. This will encourage a more effective approach to monitoring patients’ behaviour and overall health which in turn should lead to more tailored care and therefore better outcomes for these vulnerable individuals in Edinburgh.

In order to be considered for the role of a qualified Nurse in one of Edinburgh’s nursing homes, you must:

  • Be a qualified Registered General Nurse/Registered Mental Health Nurse (with current UK Pin no. with NMC).
  • Be a member of the PVG scheme and have the willingness to undergo an update.
  • Have a minimum of six months post qualified nursing experience, ideally within the private sector.
  • Be a strong clinical leader yet approachable by colleagues, patients and family members alike.
  • Have a genuine interest in improving the care for the elderly.
