Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional looking for a new opportunity?

ASA Recruitment is looking to bring on multiple health and safety officers to join one of the top universities in Scotland on a short-term basis. This role is based in Edinburgh.
Our client is looking to bring someone on as soon possible. The salary is negotiable dependent on experience.

If you started in this role today you would…

· Use your existing knowledge and expertise to advise the wider university on health and safety, answering colleague queries promptly and accurately. The queries will require broad knowledge of health and safety legislation, and should also be answered in accordance with existing organisational policies and procedures.
· You will monitor and review accident and incident investigations, and writing the related reports to prevent re-occurrence.
· You will attend management audits alongside the external H&S auditor to assist with corporate queries. Supporting the school in enacting the actions decided following the audits is also needed.
· You will also undertake any other pertinent tasks related to H&S while reporting to your line manager.

So, who are we looking for?

· NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
· Chartered member of IOSH or currently on pathway to becoming chartered member (signed up to IOSH pathway)
· Competent health and safety adviser experience organisation
· Experience of working in a fast paced and multi-hazard environment
· Ability to write concise and plain English reports
· Evidence of undertaking accident and incidents in previous positions
· Excellent communication and team working skills are essential, but you must also be able to work on your own initiative
