Are you an experienced Payroll Officer who is confident using payroll systems? We are seeking a Payroll Officer for an initial 2 month contract in Edinburgh.
You will support the Payroll Supervisor in providing an effecting payroll function to the organisation including preparation, calculation, input and checking pay related data on the database.
Responsibilities:
· Process monthly electronic overtime claims
· Process claims and other temporary data changes received by the department in relation to the monthly payroll, e.g. overtime, advance recoveries
· Enter sick absence data
· Perform calculations in relation to allowance claims received, inputting these to the pay application and cross checking team members’ work to ensure accuracy
· Liaise with external payroll supplier on any actions required on employee pay records
· Deal with pay and pension queries from internal and external customers
Requirements:
· Relevant experience in a busy payroll environment
· Experience of computerised payroll systems
· Competent in the use of MS Office packages with the ability to use a wide range of Excel tools
· Excellent oral and written communications skills
· A Basic Disclosure certificate
