Food and Beverage Manager

Our client in Aberdeen are looking to recruit a Food and Beverage Operations Manager to take responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of all Food & Beverage outlets within the business including Conference and Banqueting, ensuring facilities are maintained to required standards and departmental budgeted profitability is achieved.

This role is offered on an initial 6 week period with the option to become permanent. The typical working week will 5 days out of 7 with weekend and evening work required. The annual salary is £23,000 – £25,000 PAYE plus holiday accrual dependent on experience

Main duties and responsibilities:

* Ensure achievement of budgeted profitability of all Food & Beverage outlets
* Utilise Food & Beverage personnel between all outlets to minimize payroll expenditure and ensure flexibility of the team
* Ensure all employees receive regular training to update their skills and knowledge and meet their own personal development needs
* Maximise the service opportunities for guests to ensure return visits
* To ensure an efficient delivery of service and to ensure expected standards are met
* Achievement of budgeted profitability of the Bar and Restaurant through supervision of consistent service standards and development of repeat guests
* To ensure the control, security and profitability of beverage stock and other cost of sales

Requirements of the postholder:

* Maintain good working relationships with colleagues throughout the organisation
* Attend training when required
* Constantly improve product knowledge to maximise revenue and the service provided
* Be part of a team environment which promotes good employee morale and pride in the department and overall business
* Take a responsible approach towards timekeeping and attendance at work to ensure the department runs efficiently at all times, and to assist in the event of absence cover. Encourage the team to work in the same manner
* Have excellent personal presentation and adhere to the company standards of appearance at all times, and ensure the team have the same standards
* Maintain high levels of enthusiasm and commitment to every task undertaken
* Excellent listening and communication skills
* Monitor employee’s performance and resolve conflict

Experience and skills:

* Previous experience of running a busy Food & Beverage operation
* Previous Food & Beverage Outlets as well as Conference and Banquet experience
* Previous experience in supervising and / or delegation of a team
* Availability to work late nights and weekends including key dates such as Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve
