ASA are currently recruiting for a Solutions Architect on an initial 6 month contract in Glasgow.
The role is an opportunity to work for a large public sector body within a national project that will affect the lives of many across Scotland.
Key tasks;
· Determining, defining and agreeing the required system scope and high-level design to meet requirements.
· Defining end-to-end solutions that will deliver the technical requirements.
· Defining new technologies or new ways of working that will enhance the desired project outcomes. ·
· Planning and designing functional and non-functional requirements that will inform capacity, performance, security, contingency and resilience.
· Defining use cases and associated data models. Key areas of work that are vital to the delivery of the project include, but are not limited to:
· Providing architectural guidance and support to the project team.
· Explaining technical solution strategies to key project stakeholders and technical professionals.
· Ensuring that the proposed architecture is designed and in sync with the proposed scope of work.
· Reviewing supplier proposals to ensure quality inputs will be delivered in alignment with functional and non-functional requirements.
· Monitoring the activities of the external supplier to ensure timely delivery of the proposed technical solution(s).
· Identifying and mitigating existing business risk associated with solution architecture, adding value and improving performance where possible.
· Reviewing technical deliverables and advising on proposed architecture designs
The ideal candidate for this post would come from the following background;
· Experience designing comparable large scale web services projects that exceed a financial value >£1m, including API and mobile App development
· Has an understanding of modern data platform architectures
· Has experience of and is conversant with migration from as-is legacy, to to-be new technology platform(s).
· Has excellent communication and stakeholder management experience.
· Possess sound analytical skills and problem solving skills.
· Educated to degree level (or above), ideally in a technology related subject matter.
