Project Worker – Homeless

ASA Recruitment are excited to offer an exciting opportunity for dedicated, flexible and experienced Homeless Project Workers in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

In return for we offer our Project Workers the chance to work with Local Authorities, fantastic rates of pay and the opportunity to support people struggling with the challenge of homelessness.

We have a number of placements available in Glasgow including Possil, Springburn and Govan.

What you’ll be doing:

– Being at the frontline and assisting when someone is moving in and out of the service including clearing rooms (bagging and tagging)
– Assisting service users with applications for benefits and housing and providing support and guidance
– Proving activities during the day including arts and crafts, games and gardening
– Providing emotional support
– Administrative support and taking calls

Why you:

– You have a minimum of 6 months UK experience working in the homeless sector and an understanding of homelessness and housing issues
– You can think on your feet and can handle fast paced, challenging situations
– Empathy, discretion and great interpersonal skills
– An SVQ2 in Health and Social Care and Needlestick training are desirable but not essential
