Description

Do you enjoy being outdoors, engaging with the public and have a “Can do” attitude to manual labour? Based within the IV25 area? If so, I have positions available for the right Candidate with an immediate start.

You will be working as part of a team to carry out all duties involved with road and winter maintenance, driving HGV vehicles, street sweeping, ground maintenance, refuse collection, snow plough driving and gritting.

What you’ll be doing
· Carry out road and winter maintenance duties as directed
· Drive HGV vehicles including Snow Ploughs
· Participate in all aspects of Roads and Winter Maintenance and when required providing cover for Street Sweeping, Grounds Maintenance, Burials and Refuse Collection
· Carry out all aspects of Roads and Winter Maintenance
· Carry out HGV driving duties including Winter Maintenance snow plough driving and gritting
· Assist in specialist Roads Maintenance operations like Surfacing and Drainage works among others
· undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the post, these will include out of normal working hours emergency responses
· Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time

What you need to succeed
· Experience and knowledge of road maintenance work
· Ability to work outdoors in all weathers
· Ability to work as part of a team or on your own
· An awareness of Health and Safety at Work Act
· Experience of operating construction related plant or other construction related skill
· Possession of Driving Licence for HGV Category C and C + E
· Experience of specialist road maintenance such as surfacing, surface dressing or white lining, drainage works and hard paving
· A desire to learn new skills
· A flexible approach to a variety and quantity of tasks
· The ability to work on your own
