Are you an experienced HR Business Partner, looking for a temporary role to sink your teeth into? Do you have a desire to help deliver an agile, efficient and effective local HR Service? Then we have the role for you!
You will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the delivery of the People Strategy, Workforce Plan and People Board actions in conjunction with senior management and key stakeholders
- Coaching and supporting managers to build their people capability, ensure employees have the skills and resource they need to achieve their objectives
- Preparation, analysis and presentation of HR KPI’s, metrics and management information identifying trends, risks and partner with key stakeholders to plan and progress improvement
- Proactively partner, advise and support staff and managers across the organisation in relation to all stages of the employee life cycle, with the ability to influence managers at all levels of the business towards effective people and/or business solutions
- Coach and support managers and staff to mitigate risk and ensure current legislation and best practice are complied with
- Provide advice and guidance on the interpretation of policy and practical support on implementation of HR procedures
- Handling complex casework on Attendance Management and Occupational Health, Performance Management Discipline and Fairness at Work issues
- Lead on the preparation, reporting, analysis and actions of HR project work including but not limited to the People Board
- Equalities Mainstreaming report, Civil Service People Survey
- Represent HR within working groups
- Complete general administrative tasks including monthly payroll returns showing staffing changes and ensure these are sent to HR in time for payroll runs
What you’ll need to succeed
- A strong track record delivering positive outcomes in an HR environment, by building effective relationships, and providing advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including trade unions, on relevant issues
- An ability to work professionally whilst managing your own casework, respecting the confidential nature of your work at all times
- Well organised and highly motivated with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload, adapt quickly to changing circumstances and expectations
- A flexible team player, with experience of working in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Chartered Membership of the CIPD or be currently working/willing to work towards
- Experience of HR in the public sector
- Ability to apply for BPSS
