Are you a Finance Officer looking for your next temporary role in the New Year?

ASA are working with a public sector body to recruit an experienced Finance Officer to support the Senior Accountant and Head of Finance to deliver a comprehensive finance service to the organisation. This post is for an initial 3 month period with a possibility to extend to 12 months. Office is based in Dundee, however this role will be predominantly home based with some office attendance required.

In this role you will…
· Prepare for and hold monthly budget monitoring meetings, providing information for budget holders, including analysis, to meet their individual needs
· Assist with monthly reconciliation of key budget risk areas, as required
· Prepare monthly reconciliations for suspense and control accounts as required
· Investigate any discrepancies and if necessary, report them to the appropriate officer
· Input of financial information to the SEAS (Oracle) accounting system, including preparing ledger journals

Qualifications, skills and experience required to be successful…
· HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject and a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar financial role. Candidates without minimum qualification criteria who have significant experience in a similar role may be considered
· Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Packages
· Experience of undertaking reconciliations, eg bank reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliations
· Effective organisational and time management skills, able to manage own workload and prioritise work effectively to meet deadlines
· Strong numerical and analytical skills with an appreciation of attention to detail
