Are you an Inventory Analyst looking for a new challenge?
ASA Recruitment are looking to recruit an Inventory Analyst for a permanent position within a company who is approaching its 30th anniversary as a leading provider of devices to eye care professionals.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the review & oversight of inventory practices within the European Service Centre (ESC) to ensure compliance to company policies. A key element of the role is to accurately report costs to mitigate impacts to cost of goods sold and overheads at a group level.
To take responsibility for key month-end activities including, but not limited to, group inventory reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, narrative to support P&L movements, overhead reporting.
You will be responsible for
Operational involvement related to warehouse and manufacturing:
· Work closely with Operations department to provide financial support and assistance.
· To participate in lean initiatives and improvement programs across the ESC adopting a hands on approach
· Review and maintain inter company and customer/distributor price lists
· Support with change control processes in relation to cost reduction, process improvements and manufacturing changes
Month end accounting:
· Ensure adequacy and timeliness of accrued expenses and other period-end adjustments
· Assist in the responses required on Inventory, Scrap and Provision analysis
· Prepare inventory reports that document inventory count, discrepancies and statistical data
· Purchase Price Variance analysis and reporting
Budgeting:
· Opportunities to get involved in group budget tasks including the development of the PLC overheads and CAPEX budget
Inventory reporting:
· Monitor inventory movements to ensure they are recorded in an accurate and timely manner
· Reconciling inventory balances
· Involvement in the cycle count process providing oversight and assurance.
· Involvement in the Group’s full year audit providing support to the external auditors and internal audit where required
· Review specific cost of goods sold accounts and provide supporting with narrative of the impact to P&L
· Participate in process improvements
Other Ad Hoc operational and finance projects aligned to wider team objectives
What you’ll need to succeed
· Part qualified accountant, or someone with a background in manufacturing accounting
· Experience working with inventory and manufacturing costs
· Experience working with non-financial people
· Strong manufacturing knowledge
· Advanced proficiency in Excel, comfortable with pivot tables and lookups
· Ability to manipulate and work with large amounts of data
· Ability to bring positive attitude and enthusiasm to the workplace
· Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage time effectively
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Experience with GP/Dynamics is preferred but not required
